Our damask becomes more durable and noble when we harden or coat it. As coating we offer you the two processes DLC and PVD.
DLC Diamond like carbon
The DLC coating comes from mechanical engineering and was originally intended to provide sliding machine parts and tools with a hard, durable surface. It is a diamond-like carbon layer, therefore also called Diamond-like Carbon. In this process, the damask is vaporized with tiny carbon ions in plasma after hardening. This results in this deep black iridescent surface, durable and scratch resistant.
Hardenings
We offer all rings in two variants: traditionally air annealed and hardened in oil or vacuum annealed and hardened in liquid nitrogen. The first variant results in a contrasting damask, the second in a lighter damask with a silky sheen.
In the picture on the left a ring in yellow gold with a DLC coating, in the middle a white gold ring in the traditional oil hardening, on the right red gold, vacuum hardened.
